State Farm Signs On as Sponsor for 2013 BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARDS

Telemundo Media today announced State Farm as the entitlement sponsor for the fifth consecutive year of the 2013 "Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm." Historically the network's highest-rated entertainment special, this year's event will be broadcast live on Telemundo on Thursday, April 25, at 7pm ET/6pm CT from the BankUnited Center in Miami, Florida. Mega-star finalists include Don Omar, Pitbull, Prince Royce, Shakira, Wisin & Yandel, Romeo Santos and the late Jenni Rivera, among others. Marc Anthony, Daddy Yankee, Gerardo Ortiz and Maná with Draco Rosa are just some of the announced music superstars scheduled to perform. As part of the multi-platform initiative, State Farm will take elements of their Fan Pass Campaign from their popular Latino Facebook Page for the first time to the Billboard Latin Music Awards by providing unparalleled behind the scenes access that puts fans on the red carpet and for some lucky fans, into the audience seats of the awards show.

On the night of the awards, State Farm will host a giveaway for the first red carpet bleacher fans to arrive, who will not only be surprised by tickets to see the show, but by up close and personal moments with reggaeton and Latin pop sensation Tito El Bambino throughout the night. A first for any Telemundo awards show, social media reporter Alessandra Villegas will report on all of the excitement and share exclusive behind-the-scenes content including rehearsals and artist interviews during the entire week leading up to the big event. Villegas will also check in with the ticket giveaway winners for their reactions, which will be part of a "Billboard Extra" fan interview. All content including a live stream backstage will be on State Farm's Latino Facebook page and Youtube channel and on Telemundo.com.

In addition, State Farm will renew their partnership with Shazam, the world's leading discovery service's initiative with a Spanish-language broadcast network. Building on last year's Shazam partnership and to promote further engagement, State Farm will also offer Shazam-enabled content during the awards show by allowing viewers and fans immediate access to their favorite artists by providing weblinks to artists' web pages for videos and photos as well as the ability to buy music directly through the Shazam Mobile App.

In its highly anticipated red carpet arrival show, "La Alfombra de los Premios Billboard Presentado por State Farm," will present live performances, sponsored by Bud Light featuring Puerto Rican duo sensations Dyland & Lenny and the "Latin sweetheart," PeeWee, at 7pm ET/6pm CT on Telemundo. Bud Light will launch its "Music First" campaign on the red carpet in a first-ever musical mash-up performance by these two Latin artists. Music First is a summer long music program that culminates with a highly unique, exciting and never seen before event experience.

Telemundo's broadcast of the 2012 "Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm" drew the network's highest-rated Billboard Latin Music Awards telecast across households and total viewers in its 14-year history of broadcasting the premium awards show, according to Nielsen Media Research.
