Slide to Roast Whitney Houston on the Anniversary of Her Death

On Thursday 11th February, Slide's notorious Covergirl series will target the iconic voice of pop Whitney Houston on the 4th anniversary of her untimely death in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton in 2012.

The musical premise is simple: an unlikely collection of celebrity guests perform irreverent, and often hilarious, reworkings of their favourite songs.

The cheeky musical event will be hosted by Australia's very own (and very much alive) Whitney... former ABC TV presenter Whitney (the singing newsreader) Fitzsimmons, who wryly promises not to 'crack jokes'.

Following the runaway success of the first hilarious events covering Kylie Minogue, The Spice Girls, Britney, Amy Winehouse, Dolly Parton and Madonna, Slide continues the Covergirl series on Feb 11th.

Covergirl has hosted many memorable performances from guests at the previous events including...CASEY DONOVAN, MATTHEW MITCHAM, ERIKA HEYNATZ, STEVEN OLIVER, JAY LAGA'AIA, JANE RUTTER, THE SYDNEY GAY & LESBIAN CHOIR, MC MORGANICS, BLUSH OPERA, DJ DAN MURPHY, THE EASTERN SUBURBS UKELELE GROUP, PETER NORTHCOTE, and ANDY DEXTERITY but the producers at Slide remain annoyingly tight-lipped about the surprise line-up for this February's show.

Just like the infamous celebrity roast, this night promises to be an outrageously unpredictable musical experience filled with inspired covers of hits like I Wanna Dance With Somebody, I'm Your Baby Tonight, I Will Always Love You and many more songs reworked into new and exciting versions.
