Scott Rudin, Seth Rogen Team with WORKAHOLICS Cast for New Project

BWW reported yesterday that Broadway and film producer Scott Rudin is developing a feature film version of Comedy Central's sitcom WORKAHOLICS. Now, Variety writes that Rudin and actor/producer Seth Rogen are teaming up with the actors from WORKAHOLICS for an untitled new project not affiliated with the TV series.

WORKAHOLICS creator Kyle Newacheck will helm the movie, with cast members Anders Holm, Adam DeVine and Blake Anderson starring. Holm is also writing the script.

Executive producer of the TV series The Newsroom, Rudin has worked on film adaptations of the novels Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and No Country For Old Men. His Captain Phillips, starring Tom Hanks, is currently in theaters. In the works are a new romantic comedy featuring Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Rosewater, Ex Machina, Finally Famous, Sinatra and The Smoker.

Among Rudin's recent Broadway producing credits are The Book of Mormon, The Testament of Mary, The Book of Mormon, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Death of a Salesman, The House of Blue Leaves, Jerusalem, The Motherf**ker with the Hat and many, many more.

Rogen will next be seen in Neighbors, The Interview, Kung Fu Panda 3 and B.O.O: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations. He has worked as producer for The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad, Pineapple Express, Funny People, The Green Hornet, 50/50 and This Is the End, as well as his upcoming films Neighbors and The Interview.
