As BroadwayWorld previously reported, William Finn and James Lapine's landmark musical, Falsettos, the theatrical masterpiece that forever reshaped our collective definition of family, will return to Broadway next Spring with an all new production directed by Mr. Lapine. Falsettos premiered on Broadway in 1992 - after its characters first captured the hearts of theatergoers Off Broadway - garnering rave reviews and seven Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, and going onto win for Best Original Score (Finn) and Best Book of a Musical (Lapine and Finn).

Part intimate family drama, part neurotic urban comedy, and part keenly observed meditation on a shifting definition of the American family, Falsettos remains every bit as "exhilarating and heartbreaking" (Frank Rich, New York Times) as it was when it first premiered. As Marvin struggles to create a "tight knit family" out of his eclectic array of core relationships (including his ex-wife, his new boyfriend, his adolescent son, his psychiatrist, and his neighbors) amidst a series of monumental life changes, he is forced to reckon with his own views on love, responsibility, and what it means to be a man.

For anyone who missed out on the original production or just needs to brush up on their Falsettos, BroadwayWorld brings you a roundup of some of our favorite songs from the show below!
