Check the brand-new first teaser for Lifetime's upcoming small-screen remake of the 80's female friendship classic, Beaches. While fans await the film's premiere, starring Idina Menzel and Nia Long, you can hear Menzel croon the opening lines of the now iconic ballad, "The GLORY of Love" in the clip.

Friends are family that you choose to have for a lifetime. Grammy(R) and Tony(R) Award winner Idina Menzel (Frozen) and NAACP Image Award winner Nia Long (The Best Man Holiday) star as lifelong best friends in Beaches, premiering on Saturday, January 21 at 8pm ET/PT. Beaches is directed by Emmy(R) Award nominee, Allison Anders. It features new takes on the classic songs "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "The Glory of Love" and includes several other songs recorded specifically for the movie.

In this contemporary remake, Beaches follows the serendipitous meeting of two young girls on the Venice Boardwalk, who, though worlds apart in lifestyle, embark on unexpected and lifelong friendship. CC (Menzel) is an aspiring singer trying to make it in Los Angeles until she is discovered by a director who gives her her first big shot. Hillary (Long) is the daughter of a prominent civil rights lawyer who struggles to find her own destiny. Their friendship - even with its ups and downs - sustains them for decades.

Beaches also stars Gabriella Pizzolo and Grace Capeless as the young CC and Hillary along with Jodi Capeless, Sanai Victoria and Antonio Cupo.

Beaches is executive produced by Denise Di Novi (Crazy Stupid Love) and Alison Greenspan (If I Stay). Allison Anders (Ring of Fire) directs from a teleplay by Nikole Beckwith (Stockholm, Pennsylvania) and Bart Baker (Honeymoon with Harry), based upon the novel by Iris Rainer Dart. A+E Networks will also distribute the movie internationally.

The original film raked in $57 million at the domestic box office, and its anthem, "Wing Beneath My Wings" went on to win Record and Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards.

Menzel most recently appeared on Broadway in IF/THEN. Her other Broadway credits include WICKED and RENT.
