Emerging operatic powerhouse Paul Appleby, one of this generation's most incredible new tenors, will take the stage at the Michael SchimMel Center For the Arts on Sunday, January 26th as part of Pace's concert series VOCE AT PACE: RISING OPERA STARS. Mr. Appleby is a recent graduate of the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, and has already won myriad prizes for his voice, including the the 2012 Leonore Annenberg Fellowship in the Performing and Visual Arts.

Mr. Appleby returned to the Metropolitan Opera as Brian in the 2013 premiere ofcelebrated American composer Nico Muhly's Two Boys, which was commissioned by the company. Anthony Tommasini of The New York Times called him "youthful" and "impressive." Other Metropolitan Opera credits include the Chevalier de Force in last season's critically acclaimed revival of Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmelites and Brighella in Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos.

Hailed by Opera News as a "promising tenor with a good deal of warmth and agility," Mr. Appleby's performance is certain to captivate and move audiences.

Paul Appleby's performance is part of Pace University's concert series VOCE AT PACE: Rising Opera Stars, which recently hosted Grammy-nominated mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton. Nadine Sierra will also perform in VOCE AT PACE: Rising Opera Stars later this winter.
