Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley to Chat Health and Careers at The Drama Book Shop This Fall

The Drama Book Shop will welcome three-time Tony Award-nominee Marin Mazzie and her husband, Broadway veteran, Jason Danieley, for an intimate discussion about life in the theatre and Mazzie's ongoing journey with ovarian cancer. The Monday, October 17th 5:00pm discussion is free to the public.

Mazzie and Danieley will sit down with playwright and interviewer Steven Carl McCasland to discuss their careers, Mazzie's health, and Danieley's role as her caregiver. Mazzie, who recently finished a triumphant run as Anna in The King and I, was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in May of 2015. Fiercely devoted to spreading awareness about the disease, Mazzie and Danieley are sharing their story to raise awareness for ovarian cancer and the BRCA gene mutations.

Mazzie last appeared on the Great White Way in The King and I. She has received Tony nominations for her performances in Kiss Me, Kate, Ragtime and Passion. Her additional credits include Bullets Over Broadway, Next to Normal (opposite Danieley), Spamalot, Man of La Mancha and the off-Broadway revival of Carrie. Danieley is currently starring as "Billy Flynn" in Broadway's Chicago. Prior to the long-running revival, he appeared on Broadway last year in The Visit. His additional credits include Next to Normal (opposite Mazzie), Curtains, The Full Monty and Candide. Their 2005 album Opposite You, a joint effort featuring both performers, is available from P.S. Classics Records.

Ovarian cancer is diagnosed annually in nearly a quarter of a million women globally, and is responsible for 140,000 deaths each year. All women are at risk.
