Following its hugely successful 12 week run from November 2004, the International Tour of MAMMA MIA! which is currently in Estonia following a sold out season in South Africa, will go to Paris, Brussels, Lisbon, Zurich, Vienna and various German cities before returning to Edinburgh on 29th March 2005 for an 8 week season.

MAMMA MIA! opened at the Edinburgh Playhouse on 12th November 2004 for a virtual sell-out 12 week season. Producer Judy Craymer says "We had the most amazing welcome in Edinburgh; the cast and all the production team had such a great time here that it was easy to persuade them to come back so shortly after the last very successful run. We know a lot of people were calling the box office long after the show had left and we didn't want them to be disappointed."

Inspired by the story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs, writer Catherine Johnson's sunny, funny tale of family and friendship unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings 3 men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.

With more productions playing simultaneously around the world than any other musical, MAMMA MIA! is the world's number one show. There are currently 13 global productions: four in North America (Broadway, Las Vegas, Toronto and a US National Tour), an Australasian tour and six foreign language productions (Japan, Holland, 2 in Germany, Spain, Sweden). The original London production opened in 1999.

With music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, MAMMA MIA! is written by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd. MAMMA MIA! has choreography by Anthony Van Laast, production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.

Producer Judy Craymer was first inspired to create a musical using the music of ABBA to tell an original story in 1987. Since its stage premiere in 1999, MAMMA MIA! has gone on to gross over £105 million at the UK Box Office and over a billion dollars worldwide. More than 20 million people have seen the show worldwide.

A legacy of extraordinary songs and worldwide record sales of over 350 million have ensured ABBA a lasting popularity. The group had 9 number one singles in the UK and 9 number one albums. ABBA GOLD, first released in 1992, spent 206 weeks in the album charts. It entered the charts at number one. It was re-issued in 1999, as part of 25th anniversary year celebrations marking ABBA's Eurovision win, and went back to the top of the charts. It remains one of the biggest selling music albums of all-time. To date, only The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Cliff Richard and Madonna have been more successful than ABBA in the UK.

The International Tour is produced by Judy Craymer, Richard East and Björn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal, Stage Holding and NGM.
