LOST star Daniel Dae Kim will departs the island of Hawaii for the spotlight of the London stage this coming summer to star in a new production of musical The King and I.

The Korean-born Kim was a guest on "The View" this morning and spoke about his taking on the iconic role of the 'King of Siam' for the UK mounting.

He explained that it would be produced in the UK, "It's actually going to be in London at the Royal Albert Hall. We start rehearsals start in May".

The hosts asked "are you a song and dance man?"

He gave a witty and relaxed answer to the question, "I went to school here in New York and part of the training was singing and dancing. We did a cabaret second year with some people you might know and so i did a lot of singing there. All the years of singing int he shower paid off I guess".

Whoopi pointed out that original 'King' star Yul Brenner wasn't known as a singer, so it was written for someone who could carry a "tune...but not that far".

"The View" is hosted by Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd. The View airs Monday thru Friday @ 11:00 AM, ET on ABC.

Raymond Gubbay and the Royal Albert Hall will present a spectacular new fully staged in the round production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical The King and I.

For a strictly limited season of only 20 performances the show will star the 40-year-old actor, who plays Jin in the hit TV show, in the role of the King of Siam, he will star alongside one of the UK's best loved performers Maria Friedman.

For decades The King and I has captured the hearts and minds of millions with its delightful story, set in the late 19th century, of the British widow and governess Anna Leonowens, brought to the court of Siam as tutor to the King's children. Once within the sumptuous Royal Palace of Bangkok, beautifully recreated within the magical setting of the Royal Albert Hall, Anna and the King grow to understand and respect one another and learn about each other's cultures.

This truly unique love story is told with one of the most glorious and memorable scores ever written. Much-loved songs and sweeping melodies from the show played by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra include: Shall We Dance, March of the Siamese Children, I Whistle a Happy Tune, Hello Young Lovers and the unforgettable Getting To Know You.

The production will be directed by Jeremy Sams, whose recent directing credits include The Sound of Music and Noises Off both in the West End and on Broadway, with musical direction by Gareth Valentine whose recent credits include Strictly Gershwin and Chicago. Designer Robert Jones' recent credits include The Sound of Music and On the Town and choreographer Susan Kikuchi has been involved in no less than nine international productions of The King and I as either performer or choreographer.

Presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Limited on behalf of R&H Theatricals of New York
