The 1st Annual Blake Whyte Music Festival is Sunday, Sept.7 at 7 pm at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, 405 West 55th St. Actor/Singer/Songwriter Blake Whyte (Wicked, Mamma Mia!) is presenting an evening of World Premiere Music and Dance, Collaborating with Six Different Choreographers. Choreographers will include: Karla Garcia, (Wicked, Addams Family, So You Think You Can Dance), Albert Guerzon (Honeymoon in Vegas, Ghost, Mamma Mia!), Paul Heesang Miller (Mamma Mia!), Julia S. Bengtsson (Joffrey Ballet), Jonathan Emanuell Asbury (Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, Aszure Barton & Artists), and Diana Evan Pulliam (Co-Artistic Director of TheREP).

Broadway Dancers involved in the evening are Syndi Beaudoin (Mamma Mia!) Deanna Aguinaga (West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Mamma Mia!), Christopher Hudson Myers (Mamma Mia!) Tera-Lee Pollin (Urban Cowboy, Mamma Mia!) and Rachel MacIsaac Myers (Mamma Mia! Tour).

Blake will be backed by his band of Paul Wyatt, Alex Wyatt, Curtis Stewart, Amanda Gookin, Jeff Litman and Steve Whipple. With cameos by Dana Haynes and Rob Preuss. Special Music Guests at the Festival are The PUBLIQuartet and the Alex Wyatt Sextet.

Singer/Performer Blake Whyte continues to earn impressive coverage for his debut CD, "More Like Myself." Blake's soulful, positive pop has influences from Ben Folds, Neil Young and Regina Spektor with a film score feel.
