INDUSTRY INSIGHT: Weekly Grosses Analysis - 5/2

Welcome to this week's edition of our new WEEKLY GROSSES ANALYSIS - read on for all the weekly grosses statistics for the movers and shakers from the latest grosses, for the week ending 5/1/2016.

Amongst this week's movers and shakers, WAITRESS continues to sell-out at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Despite heavy comping over three shows last week to accommodate second night press and the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards voters, WAITRESS' gross went up more than $150 K over the previous (opening) week.

Also, in its second week of previews at the Lyric Theatre, Cirque du Soleil - PARAMOUR grossed $1,065,771.30, beating last week's gross of $1,018,941.65. As with last week, PARAMOUR did six performances, compared to the traditional Broadway schedule of eight performances per week.
