Variety is reporting that commercial broadcaster Antena 3 has signed a rights deal with FOX to broadcast Spanish free-to-air nights of GLEE on the Spanish network Modern Family and Family Guy spinoff, The Cleveland Show, are also part of the Antena 3-FOX deal. Earlier this year, Antena 3 and FOX signed similar rights deals on the dramas Lie to Me, The Listener and Mental.

Antena 3 will air the programs in the first half of 2010 in primetime slots via its web Antena 3 or its digital service Neox, according to A3 head of acquisitions, Mercedes Gamero.

Says Gamero in Variety, "Our strategy of avoiding stable deals with Stateside studios works well. We prefer to buy new skeins after their U.S. premieres because there's really quite interesting product beyond the volume deals other broadcasters use."

GLEE earned four Globes nominations on Tuesday, December 15 - the most of any television show, including TV series, comedy actor (Matthew Morrison), actress (Lea Michele) and supporting thesp (Jane Lynch).
