SONGS & STRUCTURES
Song structure is the most basic element of songwriting. The class will review and study AABA, strophic, verse-chorus, and other fundamental forms. For beginning to advanced composers and lyricists.
SUN / NOV. 6 / 4:00pm-6:00pm

CHORDS & ACCOMPANIMENT
Unique chord progressions and original accompaniments/arrangements can create just as much of a writer's block as melody and words. This class will discuss what's happening beneath your singer, exploring bass patterns, variations, chord progressions, and development. For intermediate to advanced composers.
SUN / NOV. 6 / 6:30pm-8:30pm

SONGS AND CHARACTERS
Whether you're writing pop songs or showtunes, every song is sung by a character. This class will discuss voice, vocabulary, and "songspotting" for musicals, as well as opening up a character to expand the most from your song's idea. For beginning to advanced composers and lyricists.
SUN / NOV. 20 / 4:00pm-6:00pm

MUSICAL THEATRE WRITER'S BUSINESS
The business of being a musical theatre writer is rarely written about and even more rarely studied. This class will explore the business of the new writer, discuss tricks of the trade, and identify first and next steps for a writer at any stage, including getting your word performed and read, and finding collaborators. For beginning to advanced composers and lyricists focused on writing for the theatre.
SUN / NOV. 20 / 6:30pm-8:30pm
