Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will play its last performance on Saturday, 3 April, at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London.

Following four magical years at the London Palladium, major tours throughout the UK and USA as well as a sell-out run in Singapore, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is now back and set to enchant adults and children alike all over again.

This truly scrumptious show is an amazingly exciting spectacle with a cast and crew of over 100, a live orchestra, fabulous sets including, of course, the iconic flying car plus lots of children and 11 dogs! Stage Entertainment of breathtaking proportions, the show is scenically the biggest production ever to be staged at New Wimbledon Theatre. The show also boasts the most expensive stage prop known to musical theatre; the incredibly beautiful, fine four fendered flying car.

Despite wanting to bring the much loved 1968 film to the stage for years, it was not until 2002 that the producers were confident that the technology existed to successfully fly a tonne and a half of machinery live on stage with actors and a dog on board. The fabulous flying car, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, is without doubt an amazing and very real part of the show that miraculously flies through the skies and sails the seas.

The cast are a mixture of top quality West End professionals with musical favourite Darren Bennett as the inventor father Caractacus Potts, and beautiful Rachel Stanley as Truly Scrumptious. They are joined by a tremendous cast of singers and dancers and the huge musical numbers are spectacularly staged.

Bursting with so many magical numbers including Truly Scrumptious, Hushabye Mountain, Me Ol' Bamboo, The Roses of Success and, of course, everyone's favourite sing along song Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the show is a glorious fun filled ride and a perfect Easter treat that the whole family will find truly fantasmagorical.
