Bravo Media announces new hires Rachel Smith as Vice President, Current Production and Joseph Ferraro as Vice President, Development.

Based in New York, Smith will report to Shari Levine, Senior Vice President, Current Production/Original Programming, and will serve as executive producer of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" and "Newlyweds: The First Year," among other series. Based in Los Angeles, Joseph Ferraro will report to Lara Spotts, Vice President, Development, and will be responsible for developing new original series for the network that define the Bravo brand.

Rachel Smith most recently was Vice President Original Programming at BBC America where she spearheaded the unscripted development and production of original series including, "Royally Mad with Cat Deeley," "No Kitchen Required," "Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan," "Richard Hammond's Crash Course" and "The Nerdist with Chris Hardwick" along with numerous specials around the "Planet Earth," "Top Gear" and "Doctor Who" franchises.

Before BBC America, Smith held the role of Executive Producer, Production & Development at Discovery Fit and Health, Planet Green and Vice President, Development & Production: Scripted Programming at IFC TV. While at IFC, she developed and executive produced various scripted comedies including, "The Whitest Kids You Know," "Bollywood Hero with Chris Kattan" and "The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman."

Prior to IFC, Smith worked at Bravo Media from December, 1999 to September, 2005 as Manager of Production and was then promoted to Director of Development where she was part of the development team on the freshman seasons of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" and "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles" and executive produced "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List," "Being Bobby Brown" and "Tabloid Wars."

Ferraro joins Bravo from Ryan Seacrest Productions (RSP) where he was Vice President of Development working on "The Wanted Life" for E! and "Girls in the Game" for VH1. Prior to RSP, Joseph served as Vice President of Programming at The Oprah Winfrey Network overseeing "The Gayle King Show," "My Own Time," "Home Made Simple and "The Rosie Show." Ferraro has worked on many acclaimed series including, "American Idol: UK," "The Biggest Loser," "VH1 Divas," "What Perez Sez," "Temptation Island," "Shipmates" and "Rupaul's Drag Race." Ferraro was also a producer/writer for nationally Syndicated talk shows including "Entertainment Tonight," "Leeza," "The Martin Short Show" and "The Caroline Rhea Show."

In addition, Ferraro has written for comedic voices including, Martin Short, Kathy Griffin, Caroline Rhea, William Shatner, Ellen DeGeneres, Tori Spelling, Paula Abdul, Perez Hilton, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Doug Wilson, Mo Rocca, Stacy London, RuPaul, and many more.
