Billy Bob Thornton in Talks for ENTOURAGE Film

Billy Bob Thornton is narrowing in on a deal to join Vinnie Chase & Co.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar winner is in negotiations to join the cast of the big screen adaptation of HBO's hit drama ENTOURAGE, written and directed by Doug Ellin.

The film, which features series stars Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara, Kevin Dillon and Jeremy Piven, centers on the "usual girl-chasing and party-hopping figures into the plot, but so does the making of a big-budget Dracula movie that is to star Vinnie Chase, the hunk played by Grenier."

Should Thornton sign, he would "play a billionaire cowboy turned film financier who puts up money for the Dracula movie and sends his 20-something son to L.A. to keep an eye on his investment."

ENTOURAGE began filming in Los Angeles earlier this month.

Produced by Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson Entourage was a hit with audiences and critics alike. Comparable with another hit HBO comedy, Sex and the City; the studio and fans of the show want to see the story continue.

Thornton won the Academy Award for Outstanding Screenplay for Sling Blade, for which he also was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, and he was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor for A Simple Plan. He has four Golden Globe acting nominations for The Man Who Wasn't There, A Simple Plan, Bandits, and Bad Santa. He will next be seen in FX's limited series FARGO, based on the classic Academy Award winning feature film of the same title by Joel & Ethan Coen.
