Bella Hristova Releases Latest CD, BELLA UNACCOMPANIED

Violinist Bella Hristova's second recording for solo violin, "Bella Unaccompanied", has been recognized with a first round GRAMMY ballot placement. Her performance of Johann Sebastian Bach's Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004, on the CD, is currently spotlighted as a featured video on Curtis Performs, the institute's online stage (Ms. Hristova is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music). The video was recorded live this past June 2013 at Curtis's Gould Rehearsal Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The recording, which also includes John Corigliano's The Red Violin Caprices, Kevin Puts'sArches, Astor Piazzolla's Tango Etudes, and Nathan Milstsein's Paganiniana Variations, was released on A. W. Tonegold Records in late spring 2013 and is available online at http://awtonegold.com/bella.html

While Ms. Hristova's upcoming performances do not also feature the works on her recent CD, her artistry can be heard in a variety of works, culminating in her third appearance at Carnegie Hall as soloist with the NY String Seminar. On December 24th, led by conductor Jaime Laredo, she performs Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in e, Op. 64. The 2013 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient's November engagements include two performances with the renowned Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center; a performance of the Prokofiev Violin Concerto with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra; and two December recitals in Massachusetts and Vermont. Recent engagements this fall have included performances with the Amarillo Symphony, Colorado Spring Philharmonic and a recital on the prestigiousTuesday Musical Club's series in Texas.

Acclaimed for her passionate, powerful performances, beautiful sound, and compelling command of her instrument, violinist Bella Hristova is a young musician with a growing international career as a soloist and recording artist. Her talent has been recently recognized with a prestigious 2013 Avery Fisher Career Grant, given to outstanding instrumentalists and based on excellence alone. The Washington Post's The Classical Beat has stated the Ms. Hristova is "a player of impressive power and control", and The Strad has praised, "Every sound she draws is superb".

Engagements in winter/spring 2014 include two world premieres written specifically for Bella: David Ludwig's concerto with the Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra, and Anthony Ritchie's violin concerto with New Zealand's Southern Sinfonia. North American appearances also include orchestral engagements with the symphony orchestras of Bakersfield, Des Moines, Edmonton (Canada), Meridian, Westmoreland, and the InterSchool Orchestra of New York, as well as recitals with Music for Youth, Buffalo Chamber Music Society, Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, and the Arts Council of Moore County. Abroad, Ms. Hristova also appears with New Zealand's Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.
