Banderas to Star in BLACK GOLD Film

According to a reoprt by Deadline.com, star of the stage and screen Antonio Banderas is set to star in Warner Bros and Universal's Black Gold.  The film will be directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, and will begin fiming on October 18. The plot revolves around the rivalry between Arabian rulers in the 1930s, who are united by a young leader.

Banderas appeared on Broadway in the revival of Nine, for which he was nominated for a Tony and received a Drama Desk and Theatre World Award in 2003.  His performance is preserved on the Broadway cast recording released by PS Classics.

One of the most internationally recognizable actors in the world, he has appeared in high-profile Hollywood films including Assassins, Evita, Interview with the Vampire, the Oscar-winning Philadelphia, Desperado with Salma Hayek, The Mask of Zorro, and the Spy Kids and Shrek film series as Puss in Boots. Recently, Banderas announced that he will do his sixth film with good friend, Pedro Almodovar. Banderas appeared alongside Almodovar is 1990's "Tie Me Up, Time Me Down".
