BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center presents Monk in Motion: Next Face of Jazz- Cécile McLorin Salvant Vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant is the Winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, 2010.

Cécile McLorin Salvant is a young French-American jazz singer. She graduated from Coral Reef International Baccalaureate Academy in 2007 where she received the highly prestigious National Achievement Scholarship. In 2009, the magazine Paris Hot Club called her a "true and remarkable jazz singer...a young jazz prodigy" and Yves Sportis wrote about her "innate perfection" in Jazz Hot magazine. She is currently studying vocal, piano jazz and lyrical voice at the Music Conservatory of Aix-en-Provence, France, under the mentorship of Jean-François Bonnel.

Monk in Motion: The Next Face of Jazz is a partnership between BMCC TPAC and the Thelonious Monk Institute that presents the top three winners of the Annual Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. The series continues...
