GRINDR: THE OPERA to Return to London's Union Theatre With Full Cast Announced
Erik Ransom's Off West End Award-winning musical will also tour Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, and Nottingham.
Casting has been announced for the return of GRINDR: THE OPERA, which will play Union Theatre from June 18 through July 19, 2026 before embarking on a UK tour.
The cast includes Patrick Barrett, Oliver Cartwright, Will Joel, Will Loader, Christian Lunn, Kane Verrall, and Dereck Walker. The musical features a book, music, and lyrics by Erik Ransom and is directed and choreographed by William Spencer.
Originally awarded Best New Musical at the 2019 Off West End Awards, GRINDR: THE OPERA places the dating app in an operatic setting, blending musical styles ranging from baroque to contemporary pop. The production follows Grindr as a mythical siren manipulating its devotees through technology and desire.
Patrick Barrett will play Devon following appearances in Pretty Woman the Musical. Oliver Cartwright joins as on-stage swing and understudy for Devon, Don, and Grindr. Will Joel will make his professional London stage debut as Jack, while Will Loader serves as on-stage swing and dance captain understudying Tom and Jack.
Christian Lunn returns to the role of Grindr after appearing in both the original 2018 production and the 2023 revival. Kane Verrall will play Tom, and Dereck Walker reprises the role of Don from the original production.
