Following the record-breaking success of La Cage aux Folles, the Producers are delighted to announce the glamorous musical comedy will extend its run at The Playhouse Theatre until January 9th 2010. Tickets will be released for sale on Monday March 16th.

Stepping into the sequined shoes of La Cage aux Folles star Albin is acclaimed actor Roger Allam. He takes over the role from Graham Norton. Roger Allam will be joined by Olivier award winning actor Philip Quast, who played the role of Georges when the production first opened at the Menier Chocolate Factory in November 2007.

Roger Allam has appeared at The National Theatre in Democracy, The Cherry Orchard, Albert Speer and Summerfolk. He is an Associate Artist of the RSC where his classical roles include: Mercutio, Oberon/Theseus, Brutus, Toby Belch and Macbeth. He is no stranger to dressing in drag, having won an Olivier Award for Best Actor in 2002 for his role as Captain Terri Dennis in Privates on Parade at the Donmar. He also won an Oliver for Best Supporting Actor in The National Theatre production of Money.

Philip Quast has three Olivier Awards to his name, having been honoured for Best Male Performance three times: for South Pacific in 2002, The Fix in 1998, and Sunday in the Park with George in 1990. He has also performed in Sweeney Todd at the Royal Festival Hall, Evita, The Cherry Orchard and Democracy.

Philip Quast and Roger Allam will appear in La Cage aux Folles until August 26th 2009. Further casting will be announced in due course.
