Denise Van Outen's SOME GIRL I USED TO KNOW Begins at the Arts Theatre Tonight

Following a highly successful UK tour earlier this year, Denise Van Outen's new one-woman musical play, SOME GIRL I USED TO KNOW, which she co-wrote with Terry Ronald, comes to London's West End with an exclusive run of 24 performances at the Arts Theatre from tonight, 22 August to 13 September 2014.

Stephanie Canworth has it all; a successful career, supportive husband and she's a media darling. But it takes just one Facebook poke from a former love and the memories come flooding back. Is this really the life she wants? Songs from the 80s and 90s accompany Stephanie's journey down memory lane in this intimate, funny and warm story about life and love, with Denise Van Outen performing cover versions of torch songs by Soft Cell, Culture Club, etc, as well as the title song which has been specially written for the show by Steve Anderson and Terry Ronald.

Denise Van Outen's Broadway and West End performances include Tell Me on a Sunday, Chicago, Rent: Remixed and Legally Blonde, and her television roles include Mary in Hotel Babylon, Michaela in The Empress' New Clothes, Leigh Jackson in two series of Babes in the Wood and Kim Blakeney in two series ofWhere the Heart Is. She was runner-up in the 2013 Strictly Come Dancing. She currently presents her own Saturday lunchtime show on Magic 105.4.

Terry Ronald's career began with a recording contract with MCA records in 1991, and his single What the Child Needs was a huge club hit in Britain and America. Variably as a vocal producer, arranger, songwriter, performance coach and backing singer, he has worked with Kylie Minogue, Danni Minogue, Boyzone, Lulu, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Girls Aloud, Atomic Kitten, The Wanted, Cheryl Cole, Westlife and The Saturdays. His debut novel Becoming Nancy was shortlisted for the 2012 Polari First Book Prize. Terry helped to create The Hurly Burly Show, along with Polly Rae, William Baker and Steve Anderson, which had three successful West End runs.

SOME GIRL I USED TO KNOW has musical supervision by Kylie Minogue's long-term musical collaborator, Steve Anderson. Steve has written songs for Britney Spears, Westlife and Atomic Kitten. He was Musical Director of Rent: Remixed in the West End, which starred Denise Van Outen and Siobhan Donaghy, and The Hurly Burly Show. He is currently Musical Director for Leona Lewis's Glassheart tour.
