Charles Spencer, the Daily Telegraph's theatre critic, is retiring after 25 years on the paper.

He has served in his current role since 1991, and is now taking early retirement.

"I have loved my job, but critics shouldn't go on too long.

"I feel I've had my say and it's time to stop and put my feet up," Spencer said to his paper.
