DARK HORSE THEATRE COMPANY presents MR. MARMALADE by Noah Haidle and Directed by Natasha Parnian Friday and Saturday evenings October 15-October 30th 7:30pm at the DC Arts Center 2438 18th ST NW Washington DC

Mr. Marmalade is the story of a precocious four year old named Lucy struggling through one desperate evening while her make believe world crumbles around her. Her imaginary friend, Mr. Marmalade, doesn't have much time for her. Not to mention, he beats up his personal assistant, has a cocaine addiction, and a penchant for pornography. Larry, her only real friend, is the youngest suicide attempt in the history of New Jersey. "Mr. Marmalade" is a savage black comedy about what it takes to grow up in these difficult times. "Mr. Marmalade" is written by Noah Haidle ("Kitty Kitty Kitty," "A Long History of Neglect," "Rag and Bone,") directed by Natasha Parnian and features Rebecca Vail, Derek Yale, J. W. Crump, Rachel Gray, Amanda Spellman, Timothy R. King, Dannielle Hutchinson, Brian J. Hoyle, and Katie Chernowetz.

The show will be performed in the DC Arts Center 46 seat black box theatre. The limited seating means early reservations are a must. Mr. Marmalade plays Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, from October 15-October 30. The DC Arts Center is located at 2438 18th St NW in Washington DC. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for DCAC members/students/senior citizens. DC Theatre Scene called it "compelling", "deliciously complicated", and "a promising beginning. Kudos to all involved for a very successful launch". Showbizradio.net says "A terrific show...it was crafted in a way that was meaningful and engaging" and "bursting with energy and electric tension". The production also earned a DC Theatre Scene audience choice nomination for Arianne' Warner's portrayal of "Carol".

The Dark Horse Theatre Company is a new Washington D.C. based collective of performers, directors, designers, writers, visual artists, and other specialists that have come together out of a mutual desire and compulsion to develop theatrical work through the collaboration and exploration of varied mediums. The company's mission is to produce collaborative works of theatre in an affordable and accessible way in order to both entertain and educate on both sides of the stage. We will achieve this through quality and provocative productions of classical, contemporary, and new works.
