Pallas Theatre Collective Announces 5th Annual TableRead Lineup; Runs 6/9-14

Pallas Theatre Collective is excited to announce the lineup for its 5th Annual TableRead, June 9-14, 2015 at the Anacostia Arts Center. Pallas will be presenting workshop readings of five new works, four of which are currently in development with Pallas.

The lineup this year will include the following:

Bailey by Kevin Finkelstein: A charming show about a charismatic musician, a quirky coffee shop, and its beloved regulars. Bailey received an honorable mention for the 2015 TableRead.

No AIDS No Maids by Dee Dee Batteast: A darkly humorous one-woman show that explores the obstacles minority actors face in American Theatre. Pallas will present No AIDS No Maids at the Capital Fringe Festival this July.

Oneida by Beth Blatt & Lizzie Hagstedt: Winner of the 2015 TableRead and will receive a full production in Pallas's 2016 season. This unique musical centers on the revolutionary Oneida Community, where the expression "free love" was first coined.

Emma by Sarah Taylor Ellis & Meghan Brown: A musical interpretation of Jane Austen's celebrated novel. To be presented in as part of Pallas's 2016 season, in conjunction with the Jane Austen Society of North America's Annual General Meeting.

Clover by Laura Rocklyn & Ty Hallmark: A stirring new drama about mysterious 19th century socialite Clover Adams, whom Henry James called "Voltaire in Petticoats." To be presented in Pallas's 2015 season and as part of the Women's Voices Theater Festival this October.

Admission to each reading is $5, or patrons can purchase an all-access pass that will grant them admission to all readings that week for $25. Tickets available at pallastheatre.org/tickets.

Pallas Theatre Collective exists to showcase and highlight American voices and the multiplicity of their perspectives through theatre. We seek to identify, develop, and preserve new voices, especially those often unheard. We desire to be an incubator for talented and visionary artists, providing resources and a home for theatrical practitioners to share their voices in the Washington, D.C. area and around the United States. Pallas's mission includes two hallmarks: (1) to foster the continuation of the American musical theatre legacy, and (2) to assist in the growth of theatre artists as they share their own American stories. We, as an artistic collective, seek to reflect the diversity of American life and creativity on our stage.
