DC-7: THE ROBERTO CLEMENTE STORY to Open at Gala Theatre, 4/18

Only six days remain until the opening for DC-7: The Roberto Clemente Story in Washington DC. Whether you're a baseball fanatic or not, you won't want to miss it. Opening night is Thursday, April 18.

This production isn't just about a baseball player; it's about a legend who battled against discrimination and never gave up the fight against injustice.

The Noche de GALA on Saturday, April 20 will include a show and reception, with distinguished guests Roberto Clemente, Jr. and Honorary Host Congressman Pedro Pierluisi of Puerto Rico.

Luis Salgado (Choreographer) was the Latin Assistant Choreographer of the Tony Award musical In the Heightsand choreographed the Off-Broadway production of DC-7: The Roberto Clemente Story. Other New York productions he has choreographed includeZapata The Musical in the 2012 New York Music Theatre Festival, Shafrika,The White Girl, I'll Be Damned, The Drop Out andSerenade, for which he received an HOLA Award for Choreography. As a performer, he has appeared in the Broadway productionsWomen on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and In the Heights; and other Off-Broadway and Broadway try outs such as The Mambo Kings, Fame on 42nd Street, and Aida, among others.

DC-7: The Roberto Clemente Story, written and directed by Luis Caballero, with musical direction by Didier Prossaird of the salsa band Sin Miedo and choreography by Luis Salgado is a bilingual musical with surtitles. The production runs April 18 - May 26, 2013. It features Modesto Lacén, Josean Ortiz and Xiomara Rodríguez from the original Off-Broadway production.
