Crash of Rhinos to Present Reading of Malcolm Pelles' UNITED WE DANCE, 3/16

By:

Crash of Rhinos, the endangered little theater company, announced that, as a result of the snowstorm cancelling rehearsals for the project, it has rescheduled its staged reading of "United We Dance," a new comedy by Malcolm Pelles, to Monday night, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts.

Inspired by real events, "United We Dance" traces the comedic proceedings that unfold when the strippers at the "Bottoms Up" gentlemen's club decide to unionize and fight for better working conditions. (The story is loosely based on the Service Employees International Union's efforts in the late 1990s to organize the workers at the Lusty Lady gentlemen's club in San Francisco.)

The reading, which is free to the public, will be held in the Conservatory's black-box theater. Doors open at 7:00.

The reading features Nora Achrati, Zach Brewster-Geisz, Liz Dutton, Shayla Garfield, Vaughn Irving, Brian Kraemer, Taylor Payne, Reginald Richard, Steven Soto and Kedren Spencer; and is directed by Mario Baldessari.

More information on the show is available here: www.crashofrhinos.org/shows.html.

Malcolm Pelles is a local playwright and filmmaker. His plays have been performed in New York City and Washington, DC, in venues that include the Kennedy Center and Theater J. He has a MFA degree from New York University.

Crash of Rhinos is the tiny little theater company in residence at the Conservatory. The Conservatory is located in the heart of Georgetown, at 1556 Wisconsin Ave. NW. Detailed directions here: www.theconservatory.org/directions.html.
