Weatherbeard is Back! on Wednesday, December 29 - 4:00 at Sandglass Theater. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at (802) 387-4051

Legendary Vermont storyteller Tim Jennings presents the ageless story of "Farmer Weatherbeard," his (now rarely performed) 30 minute solo folktale epic of long-nosed crones, talking birds, bickering couples, flying horses, and magician's duels.

The appearance celebrates the long-delayed emergence of "Weatherbeard" as a CD, after 25 years cassette only. Christmas shoppers take note!

Tim mostly performs with his wife Leanne Ponder these days, and he will be joined by her during this appearance for several additional selections. But prior to the duo act, this was one of his signature tales, and he presented it in festivals, theaters, schools and colleges, on Vermont Public Television, and on National Public Radio. The cassette sold well around the country, and garnered rave reviews.

"Rich, full of images and details; humorous and just scary enough... Jennings personalizes his telling while remaining true to the letter and spirit of the traditional tales. His style is natural, easy, and inviting. In a voice filled with color and nuance, he beckons us to listen, drawing adults as well as children into the timeless realms of the folktale." School Library Journal.

"Funny, rollicking, suspenseful, outrageous. Classify him, as far as I'm concerned, with the best of the true storytellers."
Chinaberry Book Service.

"A rare thing, a tape you cannot, upon any invocation of willpower, resist listening to."
