The Actors' Fund announced that Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television recognized the contribution that the Actors' Fund has made to the entertainment industry with a Special Gemini Award for Exceptional Service to the Canadian Television Industry.

Commenting on the award Past President, Barry Flatman said "We are thrilled to be honoured in this way and proud to have been of service to the Canadian film and television industry over the past 53 years. It is our hope that this industry recognition will engage more members of our community in our mission - that of helping our most vulnerable members to bounce back from difficult circumstances that might otherwise end their careers."

The Actors' Fund has previously received a Betty Mitchell, an Honorary Dora Mavor Moore and a Harold Award for its work helping those working in the Canadian entertainment industry.
