The Marlowe Canterbury premieres two new plays for children this Christmas. The Naughty Fox and If We've Never Been to the Moon? by The Marlowe's Literary Associate James Baldwin run in repertory from Friday 7 to Sunday 23 December, using the same actors and the same set.

The Naughty Fox is a heart-warming, play-along tale for children of all ages (and their grown ups), which draws on James's experience of creating multi-sensory stories with soft toys for children in hospitals. It will allow families to snuggle up and enter an enchanting winter wonderland. In it, they'll meet the Naughty Fox and a host of other comfy creatures for a tale of sharing and caring. The Naughty Fox is a journey of discovery and friendship told by two storytellers who use puppetry, interactive musical instruments and light projection to make magic from everyday objects.

All performances of The Naughty Fox will be relaxed, making it accessible to children with learning disabilities, including those on the autistic spectrum.

The second play is ...If We've Never Been To The Moon? It is about Noel, a man on a quest: to find a man who filmed him falling more than 25 years ago, sent it to You've Been Framed, and didn't share the £250 with him like he promised. Now, Noel has decided he wants his cash. But how do you find someone when all you know about them is that they owned a video camera 25 years ago?

Noel's journey takes him to Deal, Kent, and back to 1989, to a cache of love letters written in the wake of the trauma of the IRA bombing in the town, which lead Noel into the strange world of moon landing conspiracy theories.

...If We've Never Been To The Moon? has an age recommendation of 14 and over, and will include integrated captioning in every performance.

James Baldwin said: "I'm over the moon that The Marlowe are supporting this Christmas rep. Presenting two plays with the same actors performing in each is a brilliant way to make new work in the studio this Christmas. I'm excited to make these new shows, in Kent, inspired by Kent."

The Naughty Fox and ...If We've Never Been To The Moon? are at The Marlowe Studio from Friday 7 to Sunday 23 December (various performance times). Tickets, priced £10.25 for The Naughty Fox and £13.75 (concessions available) for ...If We've Never Been To The Moon? are from marlowetheatre.com or 01227 787787.
