The Beauty Queen of Leenane by Martin McDonagh runs 20 July - 3 September at the Main House
A terrific new cast including celebrated Irish actress Derbhle Crotty (Notes on a Scandal) joins Rosaleen Linehan as she reprises her acclaimed role in Joe Hill-Gibbins' production of Martin McDonagh's darkly comic play. Winner of the Evening Standard, Critics' Circle and Writers' Guild awards for Best New Play, The Beauty Queen of Leenane was an instant classic from its first performance. Martin McDonagh won the BAFTA for Best Original Screenplay in 2009 for his feature film debut In Bruges which he also directed. In 2006 he won an Oscar for his short film Six Shooter. His play The Pillowman won the 2004 Best Play Olivier Award and the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best New Foreign Play. Joe Hill-Gibbins recently directed The Glass Menagerie at the Young Vic where he is Deputy Artistic Director and his work also includes The Girlfriend Experience. His production of The Village Bike is soon to open at the Royal Court.Monday - Saturday 7:30pm
