SEE ME FOR MYSELF Finds Full Cast at The Tabard Theatre

The Tabard Theatre today announces full casting for See Me For Myself, a raw and potent drama making its world premiere.

Teenagers Sally and Stephen tragically find themselves meeting each other for the first time in a hospice. Never allowing the time constraints of their illnesses to quell their youthfulness, they still have the will to love, laugh and be happy.

When Sally makes a wish under a new moon, she digs deep to find fulfilment that has been denied to her in her short and tragic life, while 'bad boy' Stephen discovers a capacity for tenderness and a way to belong. Caring for the physical and emotional needs of her two young patients is Sister Jones, but does she go too far and breach medical ethics?

What evolves is a touching yet uplifting tale of two teenagers trying to make sense of the world and the time they have left and the question arises of how far state and family should intervene in a child's wishes.

See Me For Myself is directed by acclaimed director David Phipps-Davis whose previous work at the Tabard includes Ruddigore and An Ideal Husband. Written by local author and retired surgeon Chris Naylor and company director Joanna Way, this raw and potent drama makes its world premiere at the Tabard Theatre.

Alice Cox as Sally

Alice is a recent graduate of The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, which she attended from the age of thirteen after obtaining a scholarship to the Theatre Arts School. While studying, Alice performed in short films and music videos, as well as performing in panto at the Greenwich Theatre and playing the role of the Emcee in Cabaret, Miranda in The Tempest and Philia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Most recently Alice performed with West End star Rachel Tucker at The Other Palace Theatre.

Nickcolia King-N'Da as Stephen

Nickcolia trained as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Professional roles include: Caliban/Prince Ferdinand in The Tempest (Young Shakespeare Company), Edmund in King Lear (Orange Tree Theatre), Aladdin in Aladdin (The Riverfront Theatre) and most recently John Astley in Astley's Astounding Adventures (New Vic Theatre) where he doubled as an acrobat.

Monnica Leighton as Sister Jones

Monnica will be joining the cast of See Me For Myself as Sister Jones. Monnica has worked in theatre, television and film. Her recent credits include White Island for Fulwell 73, Sarah in the Short film Glass, and Rose in Stepping Out at the Brockley Jack Theatre.

David Puckridge as Jack

David trained at Rose Bruford College and Kent University. Previous theatre work includes You Me Bum Bum Train (Stratford & West End) and The Institute and its sequel The Institu2e (Pleasance Islington) which he co-produced and directed. Film work includes Tolkien (Fox Searchlight), The Lie Of You (Great Point Media), Prevenge (Western Edge Pictures), Cockneys Vs Zombies (Shout! Factory) and the award-winning horror short films Connie and Blood Shed (Moranic Productions).

Lin Sagovsky as Miss Baxter

Lin trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and loves nothing more than seeing or being in theatre in small spaces. Chiswick is her home, so she's delighted to perform at the Tabard. She also writes, does voiceovers, and runs Play4Real, a consultancy helping businesspeople rehearse presentations and conversations - so she gets to play anyone from doormat office drudges to kickass Alpha females, in places ranging from Mexico City to Milton Keynes. And she teaches at Amanda Redman's Artists Theatre School in Ealing. Recently Lin's done numerous indie films; played our Queen in King of the Flat White for BBC Radio 4; and Clairee in the Hope Theatre Islington's award-winning Steel Magnolias.

Lydia Tuckey as Annie

Lydia trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Theatre includes Cressida in Cressida Among the Greeks (White Bear Theatre), La Boheme (Soho Theatre), The Canterville Ghost (Vienna's English Theatre), Solaris (Atlas Productions), The Reeve's Tale(The Lion's Part). Other credits include Marcie Souter in The Bill (ITV), Kath in Our Kath(BBC Radio 4), Sissy Jupe in Hard Times (BBC Radio 4), plus many commercials, voiceovers and short films.

David Phipps-Davis: Director

Previous work at the Tabard includes An Ideal Husband and Ruddigore (which was Time Out Critic's Choice). David has directed over forty other productions including plays, musicals operas, pantomimes and a UK tour. His production of the holocaust drama Who Will Carry the Word? was nominated for an Off West End Award. As a performer, credits include opera (including Gastone in Jonathan Miller's production of La Traviata), musicals (The Phantom of the Opera, and Mr. Bumble in Daniel Evans' production of Oliver! At the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield) and innumerable pantos, primarily as dame.
