Prepare to Laugh Out Loud at Manchester Palace's Stage Door Bar
The Palace Theatre in Manchester has teamed up with the city's Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club to present a monthly Comedy Club night that promises to have audiences rolling in the aisles.
The evenings will take place at The Stage Door Bar next to the theatre on the first Saturday of each month, starting on Saturday 2 September, and will feature a line-up of four top and rising comedy talents.
Six special club nights have been planned so far, including one on New Year's Eve.
Comedy fans are sure to find lots to laugh out loud about with the line-up on 2 September.
Ben Norris is the only touring comedian to be the father of triplets, and the funnyman - who is also a cousin of actor Martin Freeman - talks about fatherhood in his stand-up, along with lad culture and Cockneys among other topics.
Norris, who has been a star on the circuit at home and abroad for two decades, delivers his set with a sense of angry joy and delights in brilliantly-crafted wordplay.
Award-winning Dutch comedian Wouter Meijs enjoyed a successful career in the Netherlands before arriving in the UK in 2005, and has forged an equally successful path here.
Along with performing across the UK, he has also appeared at Edinburgh with the Amsterdam Underground Comedy Collective.
Liverpudlian Jamie Sutherland has one of the highest laugh rates per minute of any comic in the UK, and promises to keep the Stage Door Bar audience amused with jokes, tales and stories.
He mixes modern observational comedy with good old-style gags, and is not only sought after on the comedy circuit but has also supported some of the biggest names in the business.
Last but not least is the versatile and creative Damion Larkin, who will MC the first two comedy nights. Larkin often improvises his entire set, to hilarious effect, and will keep the whole show rolling along with plenty of laughs throughout the night.
Future line-ups feature funnymen including Markus Birdman, Steve Shanyaski, John Hastings and Chris Washington.
Stacey Broadmeadow, Manchester Palace theatre manager, said: "We are delighted to work alongside Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club to bring a regular Comedy Club to the Stage Door Bar.
"We know our Palace Theatre audiences love a good night out and we can certainly promise them that, with some brilliantly funny comedians lined up for the next few months."
