Organised Chaos Productions Launch Their 3rd Annual Script Call
Nurturing theatrical talent in the most chaotically organised way you could imagine the company was set up to help and support undiscovered and emerging talent in Manchester and the North West by looking after all the planning, marketing etc so that they could concentrate on being creative.
Their first script call, in 2009, saw four new plays debut in Manchester in 2010 to fantastic reviews and audience feedback with subsequent performances at the Write Now Festival (Liverpool), Buxton Fringe Festival, Preston Tringe Festival and New Wimbledon Theatre, London.
"If they can produce this standard of work on their first outing they're definitely worth watching in the future." Manchester Confidential (Jan 2010)
The year culminated with a production of Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell which gained rave 5 star reviews winning the Studio Salford awards for Best Production and Best Set Design.
There were two scripts chosen from their second Script Call in 2010, one of them 'You're Never Too Old' by Steve Wood will debut later this year, whilst the other, 'Peacefully At Home' by Nicola Schofield, debuted earlier this year and went on to the Buxton Fringe Festival to rave reviews.
"**** the piece delivers on emotional intensity due to the high quality of the writing and directing" What's On Stage for Peacefully At Home
On working with Organised Chaos, Nicola Schofield said:
'It's great to work with a company where the ethos is getting work on! Not just talking about it or meetings, but a staged production in which Organised Chaos allow you to collaborate with a director and actors - amongst others - to make your play a piece of theatre, while you focus on being creative they ensure the show is promoted, finds an audience and gets reviewed. The only way we can really develop as writers is to sit with an audience as they watch our work so it's good to collaborate with people who believe in making that happen'.
Organised Chaos are also producing the debut of All Because Of Molly - one of the 2010 24:7 Theatre Festivals rehearsed readings - in September at The Lowry (1st-3rd), The Continental (8th), The Lantern Theatre (9th-10th), Square Chapel (15th), and Pavilion Arts Centre (17th-18th).
The Script Call is for original, production ready, work that has not previously been produced. Pieces need to be suitable for a studio space, have a cast of between 1 and 6 with a running time of 50 minutes or over. If your play is selected Organised Chaos will produce the debut of your play, plan and produce future performances and help get relevant industry people to watch your play.
