Marlowe Theatre Presents DOTTY THE DRAGON Today
The Marlowe theatre presents two children's plays, Unmythable on October 28th, and two showings Dotty the Dragon today, the 31st.
Unmythable, from the award-winning Temple Theatre, presents all the greatest Greek myths in just 70 minutes, combining theatre, storytelling, comedy and songs.
Audiences set sail with Jason and the Argonauts as he takes on his greatest mission: the quest to bring back the Golden Fleece. Along the way they act, sing and clown their way through all the Greek myths you've ever heard of, and some you never knew existed. Heroes, monsters and gods go head-to-head in a hilarious and unforgettable journey.
Temple Theatre are an international touring company based in Birmingham, led by artistic directors Paul O'Mahony and Mike Tweddle. Having trained at the Lecoq School and the RSC, they combine physical theatre and ancient stories to create exhilarating, accessible and unique theatre.
A sell-out show at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe, Unmythable received a host of five-star reviews and was awarded the prestigious Three Weeks Editors' Award. It is suitable for children aged 12 and over and is at The Marlowe Studio at 4pm on Monday 28 October.
For younger children (those aged three to seven), comes Dotty The Dragon. A blend of live music, puppets and storytelling, it is a fairytale adventure with a very happy ending.
Dotty is a baby fire dragon. She lives at the top of a mountain with her grumpy dad, Mr Dragon. In the village below, everyone fears for their lives, for dragon's eat children! Or so they believe. But Dotty would never eat children! Not ever...Instead, she loves to gaze down and watch the children playing in the orchard, - and one day, she decides to pay them a surprise visit. After all, everyone loves surprises, - don't they?
Dotty The Dragon, from Blunderbus, is at The Marlowe Studio at 11.30am and 2.30pm on Thursday 31 October. For ticket prices and to book, call the Box Office on 01227 787787, or go to marlowetheatre.com.
