KING CHARLES III Coming to The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury
THE OLIVIER Award-winning play King Charles III comes to The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, later this year.
Tickets for the critically-acclaimed production go on sale to Marlowe Friends tomorrow (Thursday) and the public on Thursday 7 May.
Following a sold-out run at the Almeida and in the West End, Mike Bartlett's future history play explores the people beneath the crowns, the unwritten rules of our democracy, and the conscience of Britain's most famous family. The Queen is dead: after a lifetime of waiting, the prince ascends the throne. A future of power. But how to rule?
Marlowe Theatre Director Mark Everett is delighted King Charles III is coming to Canterbury: "It's a real coup for us. Just 10 days ago, it was named Best New Play at the Olivier Awards, and for good reason. It is a West End production of the highest calibre and it will be fantastic to see it on The Marlowe stage."
