Jessica Raine and Daniel Cerqueira Lead THE CHANGELING at Young Vic this Winter

Casting is announced for The Changeling with rising star Jessica Raine (Earthquakes in London, NT; Punk Rock, Lyric) to play Beatrice Joanna and Young Vic regular Daniel Cerqueira (Vernon God Little, Joe Turner's Come and Gone) as De Flores.

They are joined by a cast of exciting young British talent including Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Inbetweeners, C4/ film; Posh, Royal Court) as Tomazo/ Antonio, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Joe Turner's Come and Gone, Young Vic; Sirens, C4) as Alsemero, Charlotte Lucas (Yes, Prime Minister, West End/Tour; Posh, Royal Court) as Diaphanta/ Isabella and Alex Beckett (Sixty-Six Books, Bush; Much Ado About Nothing, West End) as Jasperino.

It is today also announced that the new production directed by Joe Hill-Gibbins (The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Young Vic; The Village Bike, Royal Court) has been extended by an extra week due to popular demand - two months before opening.

The Changeling is a gripping tale of how love and sex drive us mad. Written by Thomas Middleton and William Rowley, this powerful tragedy was first performed in 1622.

Rising star Jessic Jessica Raine a Raine won plaudits for her performances in Earthquakes in London, Rocket to the Moon, Gethsemane and Harper Regan (all NT). Jessica performed with Henry Lloyd-Hughes in the original production of Punk Rock (Lyric Hammersmith). On screen she has appeared in Ridley Scott's Robin Hood and will be in the upcoming film adaptation of The Woman in Black.

Henry Lloyd-Hughes is well known for playing the school bully in popular TV series The Inbetweeners which was made into the smash-hit film The Inbetweeners Movie earlier this year. On stage Henry has played leading roles in several major premiere productions including Simon Stephen's Punk Rock (Lyric Hammersmith), Mark Ravenhill's Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat (NT) and Laura Wade's Posh (Royal Court). He was in the recent films Anonymous, Weekender, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Dimensions. Next year he will perform alongside Keira Knightley and Jude Law in Anna Karenina.

Kobna Holdbrook-Smith returns to the Young Vic following his acclaimed performances in Joe Turner's Come and Gone and A Respectable Wedding. His other recent theatre credits include Light Shining in Buckinghamshire (Arcola), Death and the King's Horseman (NT), Detaining Justice, Seize the Day, Category B (all Tricycle) and Loves Labours Lost (Globe). Kobna has worked widely in television and radio recently appearing in Sirens, Little Britain and Phone Shop (all C4).

Daniel Cerqueira's many credits at the Young Vic include Vernon God Little, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, Sleeping Beauty and Afore Night Come. His other theatre work includes Arabian Nights (RSC) and Blood Wedding (Almeida). On screen he appeared in the Spielberg film Saving Private Ryan and popular television series including I'm Alan Partridge (BBC) and Rome (HBO). He is also soon to be seen in the film of The Woman in Black and the television adaptation of Birdsong.
