The Tabard Theatre (2 Bath Road, London W4 1LW) hosts a rare revival of Alan Bennett's hilarious one act play, GREEN FORMS, and sees actress and broadcaster, Janet Ellis, return to the stage in aid of Maggie's Cancer Caring Charity.

GREEN FORMS is directed by Paul Clayton (Coronation Street, Peep Show) and focuses on the lives of office workers Doris and Doreen. Every large organisation has its procedures and protocols but Doris and Doreen are determined that the paperwork will not mean more work for them. That is until a surfeit of PS104 forms threatens to shadow over their lives.

Paul said: "I may be biased, as a Yorkshireman, but I think Alan Bennett is our greatest living playwright. To have the chance to look at one of his earlier very funny plays is going to be great, no less relevant now than when it was written...and very, very funny."

This 1 hour and 10 minute production runs Tuesday, 24 January 2012 through Saturday, 28 January 2012 every day at 8pm with a special 4pm matinee on Saturday 28 January. A minimum donation of £15 with 100 per cent of the sales going to Maggie's. Tickets can be purchased online at www.greenformsplay.co.uk or on 08444 999 955.

GREEN FORMS was first presented for television for London Weekend Television under the name Doris and Doreen. Alan Bennett subsequently adapted it for the stage as GREEN FORMS which toured theatres in 2003 in a double bill with A VISIT FROM MISS PROTHERO under the collective title OFFICE SUIRE. This limited run at the Tabard Theatre has been granted a special licence from Alan Bennett with all the proceeds going to Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.

Janet Ellis is a patron of Maggie's Centres which provide free practical, emotional and psychological support for anyone affected by cancer as well as their family and friends. Starring alongside Janet will be Jan Ravens, probably best known for appearing in DEAD RINGERS. She said: "There are three things I really love – the work that Maggie's Centres do, being on stage and the plays of Alan Bennett. I'm so excited to be able to put them all together for a very special week to try and raise as much money as I can for a very special cause.

The one act play is produced by Richard Howle. Richard, the International Sales director at aka, has worked in live entertainment ticketing for over 12 years and this production is his first producing venture.

Simon Reilly, general manager of the Tabard Theatre said: "It is an absolute thrill and pleasure to welcome local resident Janet Ellis to the Tabard Theatre to perform a much-loved Alan Bennett play and, best of all, to raise money for an excellent charity."
