Glenn Miller Orchestra Swings Into Town To Perform At St Helens Theatre Royal
St Helens Theatre Royal is delighted to announce that the Glenn Miller Orchestra will bring their amazing big band show Ray's In The Mood to the stage on Sunday 24th September!
The world's greatest Big Band transports audiences back to the heady days and music of the 1940s -with direction from Ray McVay, the fabulous harmonies of the Moonlight Serenaders, and the sublime vocals of Catherine Sykes and Mark Porter.
Giving audiences a taste of the Lindy Hop dance moves of the Forties are the energetic and exciting Swing Time Jivers as well as the Polka Dot Dolls singing songs of the Andrews Sisters.
Come and hear the music from this timeless era which laid the foundations of pop right up to the present day - featuring In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, American Patrol, Little Brown Jug, Tuxedo Junction and the song that became pop history's first gold disc, Chattanooga Choo Choo!
Chantelle Nolan, Theatre Manager said: "The Glenn Miller Orchestra is guaranteed to be a wonderfully nostalgic afternoon of music and dance, whisking you on a musical journey back to the 1940's. Everyone at St Helens Theatre Royal is delighted to welcome the big band; we can't wait to hear all of these renowned songs and hope to see lots of dancing in the aisles!"
