Everyman Announces Productions for Second Company Season in Spring 2018 Image

Following the success of the Everyman's 2017 Company season, the theatre will return to a repertory company format in Spring 2018 as 14 actors will come together to perform four shows over the space of five months.

The Everyman opens its 2018 Company season with Lerner and Loewe's musical Paint Your Wagon, building on the success of the 2017 acclaimed production of Fiddler on the Roof and furthering the theatre's reputation for re-inventing classic Broadway shows.

An adaptation of Anthony Burgess' dystopian novel A Clockwork Orange, a contemporary production of Shakespeare's Othello and a re-imagining of Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt, relocated to 20th Century Liverpool by writer Bob Farquhar, complete the full programme of shows for Spring 2018 at the Everyman.

Gemma Bodinetz, artistic director at the Everyman & Playhouse, said:

"We are still reeling from the joy and the intensity of this year's season and have attempted in our second season to build on all we have learned and all our audiences seemed to appreciate.

"If last season looked at our struggle to retain our humanity against all odds, then this season of plays looks at our attempts to shake it all up and do it differently.

"Until then, we are looking forward to an extraordinary autumn schedule including our exciting co-production of The Tin Drum with Kneehigh and West Yorkshire Playhouse, the UK première of Ken Ludwig's international hit Baskerville and the best rock 'n' roll panto in the universe - this year it's The Little Mermaid."

The Everyman are still in the process of deciding who will form the group of 14 actors for the 2018 Company, which will again bring together a diverse mix of experienced performers and emerging talent.

To encourage theatre makers of the future, the Company will once again include a new young actor through the successful Young Everyman & Playhouse (YEP) traineeship placement, giving them the opportunity to perform alongside some of the industry's best talents.

Full casting for the 2018 Company will be announced in November 2017 when booking opens. People can sign up to register their interest in tickets and information on the 2018 season at: https://tickets.everymanplayhouse.com/account/shortreg.aspx.
