There are many improv comedy shows on offer at the Fringe, and it can be hard to know which to choose.

The Improverts offer a more intelligent style of comedy, and while there are always going to be the odd moments of awkward silence in an improv setting, in general it was clear that the cast were experienced enough that the pace of the comedy stalled much less frequently than in other shows I've seen. While I believe there are a number of members in the troupe and those performing change each night, the polished nature of the production suggests that each member has earned their place in the line-up. Of the cast I saw, each clearly had a distinct personality and differing style of humour, yet the differing styles worked well together because each member seemed to know the others' strengths.

This show is based more on the traditional format of Whose Line Is It Anyway, with different styles of skit and set-up, rather than focussing more heavily on musical improv such as The Improvised Musical from noshoestheatre.

The Improverts used their considerable talents to keep the audience laughing throughout, and in general provided a thoroughly satisfying hour of improv comedy.
