Inspired by Philip K Dick's post-apocalyptic novel Dr. Bloodmoney, the star-gazing world of Ziggy Stardust and 1950s rock n' roll Dom Coyote and the Bloodmoneys return with their high octane gig-theatre. This unique story of conformity and survival inspired by mid-century pop culture and dystopian science fiction straddles the line between gig and theatre with performers appearing as both musicians and characters.

Dom Coyote is a regular collaborator with Kneehigh Theatre, performing alongside his multi-instrumentalist band the Bloodmoneys whose members have toured and recorded with artists including Beth Orton, Scissor Sisters, Gary Numan, Goldfrapp, Beth Gibbons and Tinie Tempah. Songs for the End of the World returns for spring dates following the success of their 2016 premiere at Vaults festival, which was awarded a Vault Festival Origins Award for Outstanding Achievement.

As New Global Inc. capitalise on the suffering of the vulnerable, the Free Radicals are planning a new type of existence, and while some predict Biblical Armageddon, many are simply preparing for the end. When the apocalypse does actually arrive, astronaut Jim Walters is left suspended in orbit, broadcasting his songs for the end of the world back to a silent Earth, where the few remaining survivors must fight for their future.

These tour dates coincide with the release of the Songs for the End of the World album, now available on Bandcamp, Soundcloud and iTunes.

Dom Coyote says: "It's like going to a gig in a parallel universe...a band playing their hearts out for the end of the world, and it's never been more relevant as the incredible political events of the last year unfold before our eyes."

Dom Coyote has performed and written music for some of the world's most exciting theatres and companies, from sold out runs at the RSC to ritual theatre and dance across South Africa. He's a co-founder of Folk in a Box, Britain's smallest venue (as seen on Shed of the Year) and one third of Anglo/Swedish alt-folk band Vena Portae (published by Domino). His most recent credits include The Borrowers (Sherman), The Story Fishers (National Theatre), Caucasian Chalk Circle (Unicorn) and Night Before Christmas (West Yorkshire Playhouse). He brings together co-writer/designer Michael Vale (RSC, National Theatre, Kneehigh), co-writer Tom Penn, (Little Bulb, Rash Dash), musician/performer Milly Blue (Basement Jaxx, Scissor Sisters) composer/musician Ted Barnes (Dead Man's Shoes, Beth Orton) and drummer, Amanda Dal (Saints Patience and Low Totem).
