Digital Theatre is thrilled to announce the capture of Frantic Assembly and State Theatre Company South Australia's (STCSA) acclaimed production, Things I Know To Be True by Andrew Bovell.
The recording of the live production will be available to Digital Theatre's worldwide education audience from Wednesday 22nd of February, 2017. This will be the second Frantic Assembly production (following Lovesong) to appear on Digital Theatre's education platform, DT+. The relationship between Frantic, STCSA and Digital Theatre is built on a shared desire to make the performing Arts Accessible to young people regardless of geographical, social or economic boundaries. It is this imperative that drove the three organisations to collaborate on the capture of Things I Know To Be True. That's made all the more important by the fact that Frantic Assembly is a recommended company on five British and international academic syllabuses and is studied widely at GCSE, BTEC, AS and A-Level, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate studies.Justin Cooke, Digital Theatre's Chairman said, "The filming we do ourselves is of vital importance to the future of performing arts' education. Quite simply, there is no other company capturing contemporary work of this kind. Most captures are focused on generating returns from the consumer market, and hence are of star-studded casts and major West End or Broadway productions. Our priorities are different - we want to capture important pieces of Contemporary Theatre like Things I Know To Be True, Iphigenia in Splott and True West (our last three captures) that would otherwise be lost forever. And we do this to enable students and teachers to experience a broader range of performance, whilst providing an additional revenue stream to the actors, creatives and producers involved in this incredibly important area of the performing arts."
