Stella Odunlami directs Deborah Pearson's potent new play MADE VISIBLE, a funny and vivid exploration into race, identity and just having a chat with someone new. The production runs Tuesday 15 March - Saturday 9 April, 8pm at The Yard Theatre. Press night is set for Friday 18 April at 8 p.m. The cast is Haley Gee (Deborah), Adlyn Ross (Ila) and Anjali Mya Chadha (Asha).

"You must have had many conversations with strangers - in airplanes, on benches, in taxis. Why make a play out of this one?"

At once brilliantly subversive, touching and true, MADE VISIBLE is a revealing dissection of the political and social tensions which inhabit our streets (and parks) and what it means to live in London today. In part written and devised with performers, based on a "real encounter" Deborah had in Victoria Park with two strangers of south Asian origin; this is a play that asks the white writer to take accountability for their whiteness.

Deborah has no idea how to talk about what it's like to be white. In fact, she's not even sure if it's a good idea to try. But nonetheless, she's going to. This is not about guilt or confession, this play lays its sights on privilege, accountability and honesty. However far that can get us.

Written by award winning artist Deborah Pearson, founder and co-director of UK based Forest Fringe. Her past credits include The Future Show, which toured internationally for two years and was just published by Oberon Books and Like You Were Before, winner of a Herald Angel, and shortlisted for the Total Theatre Award for Innovation.

Directed by Stella Odunlami. Stella is a director and performer. Her recent credits as a perfomer include Exhibit B and Re-introducing Oshun.

MADE VISIBLE is designed by Linbury prize-winner Hyemi Shin whose recent credits include Herons (Lyric Hammersmith), Dirty Butterfly (Young Vic), Sizwe Banzi is Dead, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Lyric Hammersmith/Royal Exchange) and Veriditas (Rambert/Southbank Centre).
