The line-up for Wolverhampton Grand Theatre's pantomime ALADDIN just got bigger with the announcement of the addition of Ben Faulks to the cast.

Starring alongside the previously announced Joe McElderry and Lisa Riley, Ben Faulks - CBeebies' Mr Bloom - will play the Chief of Peking Police.

Ben, best-known to children as the gardener from Mr Bloom's Nursery is a well-known actor and writer. He has enjoyed a successful television career inspiring (while entertaining) children to get involved with nature. He pitched the idea for Mr Bloom's Nursery to CBeebies in 2009 and in 2011 was nominated for a BAFTA for best Children's Television Presenter and the show received the Royal Television Award for Best Children's Programme. Last year Ben guest starred in Hollyoaks and appeared in Sleeping Beauty alongside Katie Price.

Ben will complete a star line-up which also includes internet sensation Doreen Tipton who will play the Lazy Empress of China and fabulous panto Dame Ian Adams who will play Aladdin's mother, Widow Twankey.

Managing Director of pantomime producer Qdos Entertainment Michael Harrison said; "We're delighted that Ben will be joining this year's pantomime, completing a hugely-talented star line-up. Work is now underway on a new script for this fabulous cast to ensure that this is Wolverhampton's best panto yet!"

Adrian Jackson, Chief Executive of the Grand Theatre said; "The addition of Ben to our cast is one that fully ensures our pantomime will delight younger audience members and entertain all ages. Families can look forward to the fun and laughter that they have come to expect of the Grand Theatre pantomime whilst at the same time be spellbound by impressive vocal talents, stunning special effects and first-rate storytelling."

ALADDIN opens at the Grand Theatre on Saturday 10 Dec 2016 and runs until Sunday 22 January 2017. Tickets are already on sale and can be booked in person at the Box Office, by phone on 01902 42 92 12 or online at grandtheatre.co.uk.

The local partner for this year's pantomime is Dudley Zoological Gardens.
