Celebrate Easter in style with a chocca month of amazing music, laugh out loud comedy and dazzling drama at The Epstein Theatre this April!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and to celebrate the occasion The Mersey Beatles will be performing the whole album live at The Epstein Theatre on Saturday 1st April.

Liverpool's favourite Beatles tribute band return to perform at the venue named after the famed manager, Brian Epstein. This special set will constitute the first half of an unforgettable Beatles experience. The second half of the show will see the boys return in the familiar black suits of Beatlemania and via a quick change they will take the audience on a trip down Abbey Road with 20 golden greats from across the Beatles back catalogue.

LHK Productions are back for 2017 with the enchanting tale of Sleeping Beauty and egg-cited to announce their all-star cast. After their phenomenal Christmas panto Aladdin, which received rave reviews, LHK will return to The Epstein Theatre this Easter with another egg-cellent panto from Friday 7th - Sunday 23rd April and, as ever, audiences can expect it to be a dazzling, star-studded affair.

Leading the all-star cast, LHK are delighted to welcome 991 vocalist and heart-throb Lee Brennan and Liverpool's very own Tina Malone. In true LHK style, expect eye-catching sets, sparkling costumes, laugh-a-minute scripts, superb songs and explosive choreography. Sleeping Beauty is guaranteed to be another egg-cellent panto production - perfect for the whole family to enjoy this Easter.

Also this month, The Epstein Theatre proudly presents its first ever Shakespeare Production. The most magical of comedies A Midsummer Night's Dream is brought to the stage by Daniel Taylor Productions Ltd from Tuesday 25th to Saturday 29th April. One of The Bard's funniest and most popular plays, A Midsummer Night's Dream has been adapted by Helen Jeffery and this timeless comedy promises to dazzle audiences with an unforgettable tale of love and adventure. An array of the city's finest talents come together to tell this most remarkable of tales.

This production of A Midsummer Night's Dream is designed to appeal to a young audience and will be of particular interest to GCSE students as the play is currently included in the National Curriculum. There is also a series of workshops and Q&As with cast members planned for young people to attend at The Epstein Theatre, as well as at schools, but book fast as places are limited.

Sara Pascoe brings her brand-new stand-up comedy show Animal to The Epstein Theatre on Friday 28th April. After publishing a book exploring the evolution of the female body, Sara now considers further issues - will pornography lead to our extinction? Are humans naturally bad? How do we become better? Do we really have to die? And, gulp, should she have a baby?

As always Sara is honest and unflinching as she expounds on sexuality, empathy, art, God and pubic hair. If that sounds a bit weighty, there will also be stuff about selfies, glow worms and RuPaul's Drag Race. Also, and this should be obvious, Slytherins are absolutely unwelcome.

Theatre manager, Rebekah Pichilingi, said: "Music fans will love The Mersey Beatles. The kids will love Sleeping Beauty and with theatre and comedy there really is something for everyone at The Epstein this month."

The Epstein Theatre (formerly known as The Neptune) was originally opened as Crane's Music Hall in 1911, and was a popular location for recitals and performances. It was renamed Crane Theatre in 1938. In 1967 the theatre was purchased from the Cranes by Liverpool Corporation, who decided that the theatre should be run by local people for local people and was named The Neptune Theatre. The Neptune also became a Comedy Club and after many years of uncertainty about the future of the theatre, it eventually closed in 2005. In July 2011, a £1million refurbishment of the theatre was completed which saw the Hanover Street venue brought up to 21st century standards and renamed 'The Epstein Theatre' in honour of former Beatles manager Brian Epstein, who guided the Fab Four from popular cellar act to global superstardom. The management contract was up for tender and was won by the well-established team behind Liverpool's annual Sound City Music Festival. The Theatre was officially opened on Wed 9th May 2012. Now an independent company Epstein Theatre Ltd, the venue has grown to become of the key venues for arts and live entertainment in the city with a strong programme of comedy, plays, live music and children's productions. The venue can also be hired out for private functions, weddings and conferences.
