Following on from presenting the World Premiere in February 2017, All Star Productions are thrilled to announce the Welsh Premiere of MY LAND'S SHORE at Theatr Soar in Merthyr Tydfil.

MY LAND'S SHORE the passionate musical from Wales is a tale of conflict, social injustice, moral dilemmas, guilt, love and heartbreak, with Music and Lyrics by Christopher J Orton and Book and Lyrics by RoBert Gould.

The show tells the story of Dic Penderyn a Welsh labourer and coal miner who lived in Merthyr Tydfil who was involved with the Merthyr Rising of 3 June 1831. In the course of the riot he was arrested alongside Lewis Lewis, one of the primary figures in the uprising, and charged with stabbing a soldier with a bayonet. The people of Merthyr Tydfil doubted his guilt, and signed a petition for his release. However, he was found guilty and hanged on 13 August. After his death he was treated as a martyr in Merthyr and across Britain.

The original production was presented at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre and was nominated for three Off West End Awards: Best New Musical, Best Musical Direction for Aaron Clingham and Best Set Design for Joana Dias. The New Welsh production will reunite the original creative team Director Brendan Matthew, Musical Director Aaron Clingham and Choreographer Charlotte Tooth. Full casting will be announced in November 2017.
