Unit 102 Actors Co. Presents Canadian Premiere Of ISAAC'S EYE By Lucas Hnath Unit 102 Actors Company (Unit 102) is proud to open its eighth season with the Canadian premiere of Isaac's Eye by Tony Award nominated playwright Lucas Hnath. Isaac's Eye will mark the Toronto debut of Hnath's work, and serve as an introduction to the playwright's brilliant contemporary voice before it graces the stage in a production of A Doll's House, Part 2 presented by Off-Mirvish in 2019.

A playful mix of true events and fiction, Isaac's Eye examines the brilliant mind of a young scientist willing to go to unbelievable lengths in his studies on light. In his pursuit of joining the esteemed Royal Society, Isaac Newton sets out to convince the Director of Experiments, Robert Hooke, that he is worthy of membership. As Hooke learns of Newton's studies, he becomes increasingly threatened by the young advancing mind, sparking a battle of egos in this darkly comedic play that weighs the value of life on earth, the legacies we leave behind, and the question of morality.

The Canadian premiere will feature Dora Award winning actor Christo Graham (Jerusalem, Outside The March, Dora Award winner; Million Dollar Quartet, Theatre Aquarius) and co-stars Francis Melling (TRUNK!, Kerploding Theatre; On the Rocks, Small but Mighty Productions), Brandon Thomas (Of Mice and Men, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Unit 102) and Laura Vincent (Hamlet, Socratic Theatre; Much Ado About Nothing, Hart House Theatre).

Isaac's Eye is produced by Unit 102 co-founder David Lafontaine (A Behanding in Spokane, Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train, Unit 102) and will mark the directorial debut of Dora Award nominated designer Adam Belanger (Tough Jews, Spadina Avenue Gang, Dora Award nominated; Of Mice and Men, Unit 102, Dora Award nominated). The production will also feature set design by Belanger, costume design by Jenni Lee Manis (Aunt Dan and Lemon, Shadow Time Productions; Miss Persona, Nelvana Ltd), and lighting design by Belanger and Lafontaine.

Isaac's Eye will run from September 29 to October 20. This production marks Unit 102's second year in residency at The Assembly Theatre, located at 1479 Queen Street West in the heart of Parkdale.
