According to a report by MedicineHatNews.com, Robin Givens will play a "disturbed" nanny in Toronto's new play DERANGED, set for the Elgin Theatre on June 15 and 16.

Givens said in a statement: "I love this role because it's really fun. This nanny is just…disturbed. You see her transformation from a nerdy, unassuming woman to this crazed person who sees a family and wants to be a part of it."

DERANGED is a dark comedy written by Angela Barrow-Dunlap and Vanessa Lynn, in which Givens' character plays a manipulative nanny who tries to win over a mother's husband and children. Keith Washington and Carl Anthony Payne II will also star.

Givens is well known for her role as Roxie Hart in the 2006 Broadway production of Chicago. She has also appeared in Off-Broadway's The Vagina Monologues, I'm Ready Productions' Men, Money & Golddiggers in 2007, A Mother's Prayer in 2009, and ABC's sitcom Head of the Class.
