DanceWorks Presents Fortier Danse-Creation's CABANE 2/11-12, 2011

By: Dec. 07, 2010

DanceWorks, Toronto's longest-running contemporary dance series, presents Fortier Danse-Création's Cabane, February 11 and 12, 2011 at 8pm Harbourfront Centre's Fleck Dance Theatre.

Part in situ and part performance art, Cabane is a powerful duet created and performed by Montreal's Paul-André Fortier and multidisciplinary artist and musician Rober Racine in and around a modular shack.

The elegant Fortier, long renowned as a riveting soloist, and the mischievous Racine, turn everyday objects into impromptu instruments and generate a series of surreal encounters in a provocative, amusing work.

Premiered at the Festival TransAmériques in Montreal (2008), Cabane has toured Canada, Europe and to the Dance Umbrella Festival in London, UK. Co-producers are Festival TransAmériques, the National Arts Centre and Canada Dance Festival.
